Honoring
George G. Woodall
George G. Woodall (1949 - 2020) was a multidisciplinary artist based in Seattle, Washington. George’s practice spanned a wide array of media including: oil, print, watercolor, gouache, ink, drawing, assemblage and sculpture. Common subject matter of his art reflected his deep appreciation and passion of nature, landscapes, still life, portraiture, space exploration, the Pacific Northwest and his travels to the Ural Mountains of Russia, all from which he drew great inspiration for his work. George was a captivating storyteller, both orally and visually, which was reflected throughout every aspect of his art making process, as he sought to connect people and communities around him.
George made art from his studio right across the street from the Seattle Art Museum which he proudly called “The Woodall Studio”. Today, in honor of George’s vision and artistic legacy, the Woodall Studio has been transformed into a gallery.
